NGDC

Starting in August 2005, I'll be working at the National Geophysical Data Center in Boulder, CO. NGDC collects, culls, organizes, and distributes all sorts of geologic data, but I'll mostly be working with tsunami data.

Oral Exams

I took my oral exams in October 2004. I passed, but the exam and the months leading up to the exam were difficult. Here, I chronicle the parts of my oral exam experience that I hope might be useful to someone else.

Graduate Research

I earned a master's in geology from Caltech in June 2005. My research interests included computational river incision modelling with Prof. Jean-Philippe Avouac and cosmogenic dating of surfaces offset by the Furnace Creek Fault with Prof. Brian Wernicke.
